While in San Francisco don't miss out on a culinary gem - Refuge! If you're craving a burger that packs a punch, this place is a must-visit! We kicked off our feast with their divine Spinach and Artichoke Dip, featuring creamy Parmesan, and Pepper Jack Béchamel sauce, perfectly gratinéed to a golden brown with crispy Panko bread crumbs, served with crunchy tortilla chips! But, the real star of the show is the Molé Burger! This masterpiece comes smothered in authentic Molé sauce, topped with crispy bacon, sharp cheddar, zesty pickled jalapeños, tangy red onions, fresh cilantro, and crunchy sliced pickles, all paired with heavenly garlic fries. Trust me, every bite is an explosion of flavors you won't forget! The service and atmosphere is great! -Jen disadventures

It's good when the place makes it on national television. My bf's cousin saw it and called us up to tell us about. And if you don't know by now, we are always down for a new food adventure. Pastrami sandwich takes the crown here and I am so happy to know about this gem. They have so many phenomenal local beers on tap and canned. This is such a fun place to go for lunch or dinner any time of the week. To top it off, they have 3 locations !

Dude, unexpectedly excellent pastrami from this place. Mostly because I'm always weary of claims of "good pastrami". Everyone thinks theirs is "good". This, this is my vote for "good"! Each staff member was great, they were all extremely personable and helpful. I LOVE being served with a smile. We ordered the pastrami Cobb and pumpkin soup and told them we were going to split it and they did it for us! The pumpkin soup was also exceptional. The patronage was interesting, there was a mix of society with everyone just getting along. Hmmm, imagine that. Now is that so difficult people?

Celebrated a belated birthday for an old college buddy. He hadn't tried Refuge before and was in for a treat. Sadly, we ate the Goofy Fries before I remembered I needed to take a picture. However, here are pics of my Spicy Chicken Sandwich and his Pastrami Sandwich. Oh, yeah.

One of the few spots in the Bay w Pastrami... and it doesn't fail to deliver! Really high quality, fresh, hot and juicy pastrami, and so this gastropub's a great spot for American food, especially for pastrami, sandwiches and burgers! Had the pastrami burger - loaded with flavor from the pastrami, sauerkraut, and a juicy beef pattie, topped with melty cheese. A bit heavy but really tasty, all the flavors come thru together well, and makes for a filling burger! Upgraded to garlic fries as well, enjoyed them but maybe would've liked stronger garlic flavor on them. Still really good, just depends if you're craving garlic fries specifically. Overall really great burgers and fries, didn't get a drink this time but the menu's extensive and looks really good, maybe a little pricy for what you get but that's also how it is in the area.

Came here with a couple friends while we wfh from a cafe nearby in Palo Alto. Area is nice and had decent parking. The pictures of the pastrami sandwich looked super promising on Yelp so I knew straight away what I wanted. I order the Reuben sandwich and it came in half, with fries, a pickle, pickled onions, and a Pilsner beer. The pictures were quite deceiving as the size of the sandwich was a lot smaller than what I thought it would be. It's okay since it was still a pretty delicious reuban sandwich! The fries were excelllent as they were crispy but still soft in the inside. I love pickled veggies so the sides were very appreciated. The Pilsner beer is already selected and it was a huge disappointment, but can't complain because the combo is pretty good bang for its buck! The Brussels sprouts on the other hand could have been done a little better. My friend order this for us to share and it just wasn't seasoned that well. You'd think with the bacon it would be a little salty but it didn't seem like any salt was put in it. Overall good place. Would be a 5 star if it weren't for the Brussels sprouts.
